You may remember that Bob was a history major before he fell in love with geology. In fact, he has a degree in history and has always been fascinated with the early civilizations. Our first international trip for leisure was visiting Greece, Egypt and Rome. We didn't realize at the time the importance of visiting Abu Simbal and passed on an opportunity to see it. Once we realized what we had missed we had always vowed to go back. Now, for our 40th anniversary, we have decided to go back on a romantic cruise along the Nile. We are both excited about coming back to Egypt and seeing it from a different perspective.

We will be flying to Rome on December 2nd and spend one night there before we fly off to Egypt. We start our trip in Cairo on December 4th and then fly to Luxor on December 5th, our anniversary, to begin our cruise on the Nile. We will be sailing on a brand new small ship (40 cabins), seeing some unique temples and ending in Aswan to see Abu Simbal. We will fly back to Cairo where we will spend a few days and then back to Rome for about 3 more days. It will be a wonderful trip to commemorate our 40th anniversary and my 60th birthday!

This is a very special trip to celebrate my 60th birthday and our 40th anniversary. I know we will come back with many special memories to share with you and to always remember for the rest of our lives.
